I just give it a couple of shots of moly-fortified grease.

That will work on the newer trucks. On a 2000 model, that might get enough in there to do some good after about 10 years! The early ones were shipped almost completely void of any grease in the splines. When the later trucks were produced, there was even grease showing around the seal on the slip yokes when they were new and sitting on the dealer's lots. I had to grease my 2000 a couple of times by Arkie 6's method to get any grease to show at all, and to get the "clunk" to go away.
