Engine & DrivetrainDiscussions about the engine and drivetrain of your vehicle.
This is a discussion thread titled "Transmission Fluid??", within the Engine & Drivetrain forum, part of the Technical & Vehicle Assistance Forums category.
What up Tundra owners!! I gotta question, does anyone elses transmission shift a little jumpy? I feel a slight kick from gears 1-2 and 2-3, its not terrible but I thought it would be smoother comin from toyota. Has anyone used synthetic fluids in their transmission? Did it shift smoother? Let me know because I am going into my 15k service and I might tell them to change it and put synthetics in. Thanks!!

Thanks..maybe I will try it out. I mean its not like u get whiplash when it shifts, I guess I had gotten use to driving my fiance's nissan mamxima and that thing is smooth as hell!! But its a truck so I shouldn't complain. Thanks guys!
I've got the same problem with my tundra, but it only happened
after I changed the tranny fluid with toyota's dextron III after
20k miles. Haven't decided what to do yet.
Hey whats this I hear about disconnecting your battery and it resets the computer? Somebody wrote this and said their tranny was smoother..anyone else do it? Does this hurt anything?
