Default Tranny fluid capacity

I was looking in the manual today and noted that the auto transmission only holds a few quarts. Is that possible?

My GMC Yukon held several times that.

Have any of you verified this? It just seems so small that overheating would be a big problem.

Also does it have a tranny fluid cooler like most tow vehicles?

Thanks

Don

Actually holds almost 15 qts. Approx, 4qts for a drain and fill.

On page 386 of the 2003 Owners manual it states that drain and refill capacity is 2.1 quarts. I wonder if yours is a different year than mine?

The manual is wrong. Drain and Fill is for the pan only, anyone who has done it knows it takes about 4qts. A full flush and dry fill takes about 15qts.
