This is a discussion thread titled "exhaust", within the Engine & Drivetrain forum, part of the Technical & Vehicle Assistance Forums category.
i was thinkin about havin my exhaust done. i startin thinkin, and i am goin for a completely different look with my truck. i would like to have a muffler with 2.5 inch center inlet, dual 2.5 inch outlets, and reroute it to exit on either side just in front of the back tire. i would use some square tips, and have that interesting look for it, how do you guys think that would loook? would it work? is there room to rout the exhaust in front of the back tires? thanks a ton guys
your gonna have to worry about the gas tank that you'll be crossing under if you do it that way. Just to let u know i installed the flowmaster series 50 side exhaust after the rear wheels and it sounds great. It has a VERY deep aggressive drone...i garrentee you'll love it.
so is it almost impossible to route it in front of the rear tires? thanks for the help mark, i may just have to go with the flowmaster 50 series full exhaust but it seems pricey, oh well.
by the way, anyone who has the flowmaster 50 series exhaust, does it give you any extra power? any loss of power? thanks a ton
I got a custom exhaust using a single Dynomax 3" muffler with the outlet coming out in front of the rear tire. If you want it to come out both ends, get a dual outlet Dynomax or Flowtech. If you get the right shop to do it, it will turn out nice and clean with no space problems.
