Default put factory exhaust on or Gibson?

I currently have an 03' TRD SR5 4X4 that I bought from a southeast Toyota dealer. It came with the Borla duel exhaust system that I have recently sold. Now, my original plans were to put on a factory exhaust system simply because I am a little reserved and dont want a "loud" exhaust. However, I am sure I am going to miss the performance it gives me. So, my question is do you all recommend staying with a facotory exhaust or looking at the Gibson single swept side? Is the Gibson single swept side quieter than my Borla duel exhaust system? And, if the Gibson is quieter than the Borla, how much power, if any, will I lose with the Gobson compared to the Borla? Thanks again everyone for your help. Paul

Ironically the single factory exhaust system will give you more off the line acceleration than the dual Borla exhaust. Dual exhaust systems are too big for a 285 cubic inch engine and cause a massive amount of low-end torque loss.

You don’t know what you are missing!

I would go with the Gibson. They're big claim is that they keep the noise out of the cab. I have heard the Gibson exhaust before, and it's quiet but still sounds better than stock. I've also seen a single outlet Dynomax exhaust system on ebay for around $200. It was a direct bolt-on for the Tundra and most Dynomax mufflers sound nice. You might want to ask around the forum and see if anyone can comment on the sound. I personally like the TRD duals I have, quiet for normal driving and really only noticable around 2000 RPM if you have your foot into it. I bought them more for the look of duals and not so much to be heard.

Go with the flowmaster series 50......it has a very nice deep rumble at idle and an aggressive but yet not loud sound at higher rpm's.
