Engine & DrivetrainDiscussions about the engine and drivetrain of your vehicle.
This is a discussion thread titled "Synthetic Qs...", within the Engine & Drivetrain forum, part of the Technical & Vehicle Assistance Forums category.
I've been using synthetic (Mobil 1 everything) in my motor since day one. I just hit 34k and really need to do the 30k thing.
Anyone use Mobil 1 synthetic ATF in their tranny or Mobil 1 differential?

I have Mobil 1 synthetic fluids in the engine, transmission, and axle. I didn't notice any change in performance with the engine but I did notice that the transmission shifted much better when cold with the synthetic transmission fluid.

I use Amsoil in everything from about 5K. Motor, transmission, transfer case and rear-ends all are smooth as silk. I highly recommend synthetic fluids in everything, regardless of brand!!

Ditto. I also changed out the power steering fluid to Mobil 1 as well. I could really tell the difference in the tranny.
