Default '02 4x4 front vibration

Has anyone had a 4x4 02 or later front vib 30-45mph and had it repaired successfully. I was hoping this would only be a winter thing, but summer is here and I still haev the vibration, only now it's a constant at 30-45 rather than the cyclical sound when it started.

never had the brakes touched. I don't have a vibe during breaking and no unknown noises from the front/rear brakes.

It's the classic front 4x4. When I engage 4wd the noise stops

I've done the searches and read the posts. Just wondering if anyone has had any new info to share.

I've experienced this same type of vibration problem with my '02 Tundra 4x4 TRD.

Mine exhibits itself as a rhythmic pulsation of vibration when driving in 2WD between 30-40 mph and temperature is about 70° and below. The vibration eventually receeds as the vehicle "warms-up" from driving.

My dealer says that Toyota is aware of the problem. They (the dealer) described the cause as the high viscocity of the cold grease in the transfer case providing some coupling to the idle front drive train and causing it to vibrate.

As of my last check, Toyota did not have a fix for this. I'll be checking again soon, and I will post if I have anything new.

I had the same problem in my 03 Tundra. After having my dealer look at the problem 3 different times, they went ahead and put in a new front diff. and the problem is now fixed. Good luck with yours

Did the dealer do this willingly, or did you have ot insist? Every dealer I've went ot for any vehicle refuse to do repairs that aren't recommended by corporate
