Calling ALL v-8 TUNDRA OWNERS!!! Gorilla, I know you are gonna read this
Ok, so I have been wanting to do aftermarket cams since I bought my first Tundra in 2003 (2002 Access Cab) Now a 06 DC. If I told you how much time I have been doing THIS: I would more than likely be slapped by my wife before finishing this sentance
I thought there was only ONE option for the longest time the 1800 dollar one we have ALL seen. That really made me pretty angry, as a sponsored Car Audio Competitor, I refused to be ignored.
SOOOOO...
What If I told you cams for less than HALF that? How about LESS than that?
If I could strike up some interest in doing this, GEN I and II 4.7 and 5.7 owners, we could save some money... alot of money.... and have a nasty little cam lope at idle and roughly 50+ HP @ 4200RPMs for VVTI owners
What sayeth you post some more info explaining what ur talkin about.
At least Im A walKin.
I've been in bed with a cam shop all week
BUT These guys are talking roughly $500 with 3 different options Stage one will be very mild, very streetable cam. Best option for most users similar to a 303*. I will be going with a stage 2. This cam will give a very nice lope, and BIG gains for vvti. Stage 3 is for people that dont drive, but FLY when they get in thier truck, moderately insane duration, and leaving the vehicle barley running at idle. God forbid if you should alow vvti to engage at 4200.... said wheels wont explode, they will melt.

Regrinds are dodgy at best for a number of reasons. In general, I'd say they're crap. For one thing they remove a lot of the base circle so your acceleration ramp is thrown way off. Another thing is welcome to the black magic world of lash caps. The reason that 2uz cams are $450 per cam is that there's a ton of work that go into them, and a lot of that work is in making sure that they're ready to drop in when you get them. Regrinds are the back alley way of doing it and at best you'll increase the lift without touching the duration. At worst, you'll end up with a big bag of fail. Cams are expensive because there's 4 of them vice only 1 or 2. But like everything else, you get what you pay for. With these V8's, there's no shortcuts.
