Default Anyway to tell if you still have original eng/trans?

Is there like a VIN inscribed or anyway to find onto the transmission and engine to tell if its the original one? I bought mines used and the original owner hasn't giving the history of this truck.

Not that I want to jinx my trans. It still shifts smooth as butter (if it's on the original trans). If not the original trans (ie junkyard) then that kinda sucks.
