Default 1st gen V6 idle rpms

I am trying to figure out if my truck is having issues or if this is normal. Can you first gen V6 owners start paying attention to your rpms when you put it in park or neutral. When I do, it is not so bad when the engine is cooler, however after it warms up, it seems to be high in the 1200-1400 range. I have not noticed this before, and hope that it is normal (so that I dont have to buy an idle control valve, etc).

Thanks for your help,
Arseum
