Default Toyota Engine Problems

Back again with my engine stalls problem. Previous threads explain my ordeal with this problem and it seems to be coming to a head. Though Toyota has been very receptive addressing my concern with my engine stall problem, the local dealership after performing the TSB Fuel Pump Change and having the truck in their possession for five days states that the problem cannot be replicated while in their care. Therefore the matter is closed and my only alternative is action. This problem is real and not only have I experienced the sudden and unexpected engine
But recently my wife while driving with my grandchild had the horrible experience. “I won’t drive that truck again acting like that” she said. I was wondering if I should Entertain this avenue before I submit taking action with Toyota about my engine-stalling problem.

I'd say keep a log book with you and record every problem you have. The written record will help serve as evidence to back you up.

And sorry to hear about your bad Toyota. Good Luck!

I'm really suprised they can't find the problem for you. How many dealerships have you been to? You might want to check with a few of them. I haven't heard a whole lot of stalling issues. Good luck with whatever avenue you take.

BTW: That username is HILARIOUS!!!!!!

Intermittant problems are very bad, especially electrical ones.

I see you live in the DFW area, lots and lots of toyota dealers up there. Take it to another dealer, explain that it is very intermittent but nevertheless occurs. Show them the work you have had done to date to resolve this issue with no success. Ask them to call the toyota regional engineer (or ask for number and call yourself) and ask for corporate advice on this issue. Local techs only know so much.

I had a stalling issue (idling problem problem as well) with a 96 bonneville. Problem was fixed by cleaning the EGR valve and cleaning the injectors. There were no error codes to go by, so I had to shotgun this problem and it was very, very intermittant. Since your truck is still basically new, I can't believe you have a dirty EGR, but perhaps its just bad.

Does the truck stall cold or hot or both? Different engine temperature implies different root problem.

Tundra doesn't use an EGR system.
