Default Exhaust help please!!!!!!

Ok, I am now completly confused as to what exhaust to put on my new 03 Tundra. I've read about v8toilet's exhaust and dyno experience and I can't figure it out. V8toilet stated that that he saw a low end torque loss with the TRD exhaust since it was duel's. How does this apply when it only splits at the rear of the muffler. Also, the fuel mixture ratio on his vehicle was rich but the 03's were at 12.5. Does this mean that the 03 will work just fine with the TRD exhaust.

Toyota is placing the TRD exhaust on the T3 series and they still state the same torque for the 4.7. Is this the right way to go or not. I have to make a decision tonight and I can use all the informaiton I can get my hands on as the dealer is providing a new Bassani or TRD exhuast to me free of charge.

BTW, I do not want this to be a loud truck as the Bassani appears to be. Am I better off just welding in a new muffler and leaving the rest of the exhaust as it is? Have I asked enough questions? Thanks in advance! Mike

You have a lot of choices. It all depends on what your looking for. Loud, quiet, powerful, dual, single, cutoff. It sounds like you want dual thats qiuet. Preferably Stainless Steel. It also sounds that your leaning towards the TRD. dont get. way too expensive. It looses a lot of torque and it is all looks IMO. Bassani is really loud but you dont that either. Some members are running spintech mufflers but i barely hear anything about them. Have you ever looked into flowmaster? they have a wide variety of choices and sizes of mufflers. I prefer the 50 series; its humble and if you want it loud, just press on it gently. Sounds great, but its aluminized. Im looking into the borla becacuse the sound is perfect for me.

Hope this helps

I own the borla system and I love it. It is not too loud, but if you give it some gas you will know it is there. As for the flowmasters, the 50 series would be a better choice if you are looking for a mellower tone. As far as stainless steel mufflers go, flowmaster now makes them, but not sure if they make it for the tundra yet. As stated previously, I would stay away from the TRD setup. Borla or flowmaster, I don't think you will be disappointed with any of those mufflers. Aloha

Thanks everybody. The dealer is going to give me the TRD for free so I may just turn around and sell it. If anybody has more suggestions just let me know. Thanks!
