AMSOIL Synthetic Low-Viscosity Automatic Transmission Fluid is backward compatible and replaces DEXRON® III fluids in older GM automatic transmissions. (DEXRON® VI specification supersedes the obsolete DEXRON® III in GM vehicles.)

Funny how even AMSOIL recommends a 100,000 mile drain interval under "normal service" and 60,000 mile under "severe service", while Toyota says lifetime.

Can't copy the lab report, but here is the detail:

08/17/08 time on ATF 20,000 mi...Viscosity: 5.9
04/06/09 time on ATF 52,500 mi...Viscosity: 4.9

Yeah Amsoil did come up with LV fluid to meet some of the newer tranny designs and improve fuel efficieny. Long overdue!!!

The lifetime thing is a utter nonsense, lifetime is 60K in my mind and in the mind of the manufacturer. After powertrain warranty the owner is stuck licking his wounds!!!

OIL ANALYSIS

Don't trust your luck.

I had an analysis on the ATF in the Dakota not long before I sold it.
The original transmission had 623,000 miles on it.
The ATF had 100,000 miles on it and the report said it was fine for continued use.
