Not Dexcool. I'd use standard green antifreeze if I didn't use Toyota's special pink stuff. I don't know the real life of Toyota's stuff. If you use green, flush and add new antifreeze every two years.
The way to check the corrosion inhibitor level in most antifreezes is to test the pH...paper pH test strips work OK and the level should be about 8.5 to 10. Toyota's antifreeze, and maybe some other Japanese brands, is good at about pH 7.

How about something like Engine Ice which is premixed. But it's about $16 -$17 a gallon.

Sounds like a waste of money. Why not use any standard propylene glycol AF for the safety aspects? Here's what Engine-Ice says, "Newer model street automobiles are equipped with a massive amount of electronic and computerization equipment to keep your car operating at what the manufacturer wants the motor to operate at. One analogy we use is, and we agree it's a bit simplistic, is that even if you filled your radiator with ice cubes, the computer system would hold the thermostat and monitoring equipment until it reaches it's pre-programmed operating temperature. Bottom line is, you'll probably only reduce the temperature by a couple of degrees."
