Question Who makes aftermarket heads & cams for 4.7?

Ok everyone, you all have so helpful so far, but............

Who can tell me who makes after market heads and cams for our 4.7?

Is there a company that makes major componants like that for us yet?

I say a V8 is a V8 so let us play the game that the muscle cars/trucks play.

Ron

I want to know how do you like the Dynomax mufflers is the sound agressive or mellow , and did you feel any gains in power.
Thanks

Default Dynomax

I had heard the Flowmaster exhaust on another v8 (a camaro I believe) that was just loud and overkill. The decision for the Dyno max was to get better out flow, with a tastefull note that my wife hopefully wouldn't notice.

She noticed.

Truck is definately breathing easier than stock. It feels like I'm squeezing a little more HP/Torque, but it could just be me.

Truck sounds meaner than stock, thats for sure, but there is still so much to be done.

Hoped this helps!

Ron

I would love to find a Lexus performance shop that has modded up an LX470 engine. That's probably going to be the best place to find upgraded engine components.

and how much are the gs430 cams and heads goin to run for us po folks? unreal im sure, wish i could afford it, but i am thinkin of savin up about 3 grand and gettin a turbo installed and just runnin about 7 or 8 psi of boost, so i dont blow the engine up. that could create an incredible increase in power, to me the s/c is way overpriced and overrated. any input?

There is a company in Australia that is working on an Intercooled Turbo kit for the 100 series LandCruiser (which also shares our V8). I had the link from a LandCruiser forum but now I can't find it...very interesting though. Considering that the 2uz-fe is shared between the LandCruiser, Sequoia, Tundra and now 4runner, there should be a much bigger aftermarket for engine goodies!

if that turns out around 2 or 3 grand, i may go that route, but otherwise, a lot of speed shops can fab somethin up halfway cheap. one turbo, intercooled, and simple should do it for me, i am hopin for about a 100 HP increase and maybe 100 lb/ft of torque. that would do for me.

I was watching "Trucks" on TNN (sorry...SpikeTV) and saw the ad for the Chevy crate motors. Wouldn't you love to have a N/A Toyota motor we could drop in that produced over 500 lbs of torque from 2200 to 5200 rpm! They've got a 572 coming out that's supposed to put out 720 HP!

The turbo kit says that you need 95 octane fuel or higher which is hard to find here in the US.
