Default Hard shift fom 2nd to 3rd

I've had a 2007 Tundra 5.7L 2WD since May of this year, so this problem is new to me. Since the weather is getting colder, the morning temps are 35 to 40, and I've noticed that the shift from 2nd to 3rd takes longer. I let the engine "warm" for 2-3 mins. and it takes @ a mile before the trans. shifts from 2nd to 3rd. The engine revs. to @2000 rpm before it lunges to 3rd. It happens in S or D mode. Is this normal? and will it get worse as the temps go down?

I also notice some jerky / laggy shifts on cold days for the first couple minutes of driving. It always goes away and has not gotten worse, so I will not worry about it.

The ECM will hold the revs higher under colder outside temps to reduce emissions until the engine is fully warmed up. That way the cats are able to light of the richer AF ratios better and get up to optimal temps faster.

I agree it's a bit annoying, but this is the price to pay for having all the hp/tq on tap while conforming to tighter federal emissions standards.

As a side note, you could try disconnecting the battery for a few minutes, resetting the ECM baseline parameters. This might make things a little more "normal" in terms of all around shift response.

Funny thing this morning, I always take the same road out of the development and go down a 1/4 mile hill and halfway down is when it shifts to 3rd. This morning, as I turned to go down the hill, still reving to 2000 rpm in 2nd, I let off the gas and coasted and it shifted normally before the point where it would finally shift when applying the gas pedal.
