I believe that the torque fiqures were miss printed. Not for sure, but it would make sense if it was 339lb/ft vs 459lb/ft instead of the 239/359. But, then again it stated at 5200rpm and hp and lb/ft are equal at 5252rpm. I'm sure that the torque is much higher below 5200rpm. Maybe it's a combination of missprints in a hurried effort to get the information out.
mtu_tundra--I'm not 100% sure about this, but notice the RPMs that they are taking these figures at. I think this is where the maximum GAIN of power is located, not the PEAK power, so I assume (hope) they are getting around 450lb-ft lower in the RPMs. If--for example--the peak (torque) output with the supercharger occurred at the same torque peak of the regular i-Force, then the difference would be about ~450-315=~135, and this is a gain of about 43% at that RPM, and thus not the maximum gain (i.e., 50%)....
I hope that makes any sense to you...(I'm not sure if it even does to me). If you look at TRD's website, they have one set of numbers for the maximum GAIN (hp and lb-ft) for the 3.4L SC, and another set of numbers for the PEAK hp and lb-ft; this is where I got the idea.
This brings up a question...assuming my explanation above is anywhere close to being accurate, are there any peak hp/torque numbers available?
Originally posted by JAG I think the Toyota 4.7 is one of the best engines on the road, but no one is making any internal parts to make it strong enough to handle any thing like 900+ hp. We are talking about a tundra here aren't we – not some truck with a windshield that looks like it came from a Tundra.
Yes, they do make parts for it. Paisly Automotive does, and they are putting out 900 HP with new crank/rods/pistons. The heads and block are still stock. They plan to hit 1100 HP. So far they have really high praise for the Tundra motor.

Is that a stroker motor with a power adder? Does Paisly Auto have a website?
According to SteveG, they will start being released tomorrow around the country. It will take a few days to a week to get them all shipped out to the selected dealerships.
I'm working on mine............$$$$$$$ almost got enough scratch to get it. I gotta work just a few more OT shifts and its done.
I have roughly around 44k miles on my Tundra. The original vehicle warranty for my Tundra has already expired but I have an extended warranty til 100k miles. What's more advantageous for me as far as warranty is concerned? For warranties sake, is it advantageous to have Toyota install the s/c or would a do-it-yourselfer benefit better considering my current vehicle warranty situation? Also, do you know if the newer Tundras will have the s/c as an option. Maybe it would be best for me to trade out of my leased Tundra and buy another one w/ a supercharger already installed?
Can you email a reply? I tried to PM you but for some reason, I don't have the permission to do so anymore.
