Has anyone installed the S/C on their V8 truck yet? If so what's your opinion of it?

Well guys and gals, I now have to get my JetChip ECU reprogrammed to stock settings (don't know if I trust them to get it correct) or sell my JetChip reprogrammed ECU and buy a new one at a cost of $992 and sell my old one for $499. Arghhh, this is getting way tooooooooo expensive!!! Anyone interested in it please let me know.

Or sell the supercharger to me for discounted price. This is why I never chip'd, never FIPK'd, and never got exhausts...someday the s/c will be available and here it is!!! I just need the darn unit now.

The only mistake i've made is the JetChip upgrade. I don't regret the TRD duals or the JBA headers. They will allow for more efficient supercharger operation.
On a second note, No new posts from tundraplumber. He's probably too busy tearing up the town! I'm anxious to see how his supercharger install went.
Sorry 2DaMax, this baby is gonna be installed on my truck. I've waited way too long for this upgrade. My Tundra is the 1st vehicle that i've completely modded out. I don't even want to tabulate the totals. Might make me sick, haha.

the service dept. dosen't close today till 530pm.
so i shall wait till the call comes in to hear the words ..................it's done come and get it

I have a GTech Pro, as soon as mine is installed i'll post my findings. I'm sure it's fairly accurate but not exact. Hey tundraplumber, where are you located? I'm in So. Cal, Santa Clarita.

Actually, they it finished Friday, but everyone at the dealership wanted to drive it before giving it back to you!
Rather that investing in 100 shares of Nortel Networks a couple of years ago at $47 per share, I should have kept the money and bought the supercharger. The stock is now worth about $145

__________________ ADDING POWER HAS NEVER BEEN SO FAST!
Say gang I also want a S/C on my Tundra, but wonder if any of you have done any transmission modifications to help the tranny hold up to the added power.
As I understand, It is advisable to have the valve body modificated to help the line pressure up as the trans. shifts.
With out the mod. when the truck shifts under hard power It makes it tough on the clutches. It tends to slip the clutches because the pressure drops in the line while your giving full power. You have a longer smoother engagement.
With the valve body Mod. the line pressure stays up and the clutches are quickly engaged. when the change occures, less unwanted slippage. Less heat build up and less ware on the clutches.
Have any of you done the transmission mod. please give details.
Did you do it your self or find a shop to do it? Cost of the mod?
Does it shift really Hard when just driving at a normal rate? (head jurking hard)???
Or are you just going to wait it out and see what happends.
Please keep me informed I sure would like a S/C.
Thanks Tundraholic
tundraholic,
i have had my tranny modified by level 10, www.levelten.com
i took the valve body out and shipped it to thier shop in nj. took about three days. it was modified to the same reason you had, that's why i can't wait to instal my sc, but i am waiting till the first week of august. i'm buying it from a non-trd toy dealer but he can get it for almost $400 less than carson, plus this way hopefully the "bugs" on the sc would have surfaced. withregards to the shifting, i actually had to send my valve body twice so they can "de-tune" it a little bit. after that i fell in love with my tranny it'll still shifts harder than stock but it's exhillarating. it downshifts in a flash unlike stock, most of the time it thinks for a few seconds before it decides to do anything. AND when you floor it gooeess!!!!i can't imagine what's it gonna be like with the sc???? some members tend to disagree with the performance and reputation of level 10, my experience with them was very positive, they did everything to make me happy with my mod. i have a temp gauge installed in my tranny, it does run a lot cooler especially when i'm driving "crazy" with od off. normal driving the gauge doesn't even move anymore.
