Default General lubrication

I want to start doing the general lube work on my 2WD myself, just to make sure everything is done regularly.

Where on this site can I find information on where all the grease fittings are? I have done a search and only found 4WD prop shaft information.

As far as I know there are no grease fittings on 2WD Tundras and they are only on the drive shaft of 4WD Tundras.

Yeah, what's the story? 2WD tundra never needs anything greased?

What does a $20 "oil and lube" get you if you take your tundra in?

My old Eclipse was the same way. "Sealed Chassis" they call it. Supposedly never needs lubing.

Of course my old '66 Mustang's rear diff was supposed to have "lifetime" fluid in it too...when I "inherited" it (it was the family hand-me-down) I went to change the fluid, and it was about as viscous as gasoline....

It's called "Preplanned obsolecence." The automotive manufactures started this trend in the 70's.

Yes the new type lubricant the factory uses in the steering, driveline and suspension components is good, but lasting for a lifetime is stretching it a bit.

Hopefully some aftermarket manufacturer will make 'lubeable" Ujoints, tie rod ends and other "Non lubable" items available for replacement parts. But if the manufacture's claims are correct, we should never need to replace these items anyway!

Maytag Durablity anyone? No calls to the lonely repairman!

The Gordon Jump version of the Maytag commericals rocked.
