Trd Oil Filter Specs........... Directly From Trd !!!!!
I hope this info helps Guy's to all out there who are torn between using the TOYOTA PUNY OEM Filters and this one from TRD. This TRD Filter part # 00602-90915-007 is the direct replacement for the OEM Filter Part # 90914-20004 !!!!!! If you have the room to fit this filter in. Again this TRD Filter is the same physical size as a Fram PH-13 (GM) or the Fords PH-8A, it is a TRUE 1 QUART CAPACITY FILTER !!!!! AND THE TUNDRA HAS PLENTY OF ROOM TO RUN IT.
*** I picked up a couple of these filters from my dealer and by buying a couple I was able to get a little price break to $8 bucks each. ***
PS; The attached info was sent directly from TRD to my e-mail and I am passing it as it was sent !!!!!!
"The media nominal micron rating is 20" This means that it traps 50% of 20 micron sized particles.
"This means that these filters hold up to 45% more dirt...." No, the filtering efficiency has nothing to do with the dirt holding capacity.
"Silicone Antidrain-back valve" Good, but not uncommon.
"At an oil flow of 4 grams/second, the pressure drop across the filter pleats is only 2 p.s.i." The standard measure is gallons per minute of 180° SAE 30 oil at a differential pressure just below the bypass valve setting. The rating TRD gives can't be compared to other filters.
"Finished in white with TRD red logo and graphics." The best part!
Sorry, this sounds like any quality filter. They didn't give enough info to tell exactly how this filter compares to many other top quality filters.

KEN; I respect and agree with your response. I had a feeling that is why TRD is a tad bit apprehensive on publishing these specs for this filter. You make great points that this filter does not stand out at all, from your everyday filter. I am seriously considering returnig the two filters I bought and just getting the Purolator version of the PH-8A. I only refer to the Fram number because I only remember that number for some reason and also used to run the Fram in my old F-150 Windsor. Also Ken: I noted that the TRD filters bypass rated 8-11 psi is the same if I recall on the Purolator and Wix versions of the PH-8A Filters. Or I am going to just give up and break down and run the 90914-20004 OEM Toyota Filter. And on that note Ken, I dont even know what this OEM filter specs are. Do you happen to know these specs Ken ???
We don't know the exact specs of the Toyota/Denso filter.
Baldwin has one of the more comprehensive filter catalogs and publishes many of the specs for their filters. They reverse engineer the OEM filter to determine the characteristics of the filter they list for each engine. For the Tundra V8 Baldwin lists their B1405 filter with a 20 psid bypass valve setting. http://www.baldwinfilters.com/catalog.html

Whoa! I dunno about your tundra but mine take a Fram 3614 (very common toyota filter). A Fram 3600 will fit as well, basicly it's the same filter but longer.
