Default Trd Oil Filter Cross Ref. To Purolator Or Wix Part #'s

OK GUY'S; This is the gig, I have been doing my homework here and I have come up with the following. I visited several oil filter companies websites and using their cross reference guides and have come up with the following. I will say that the best and the most informative and up to date website for cross-referencing has to be the WIX Filter website !!! And if I might add WIX Filters are among the best in my opinion. So this is what I did;

I entered the TRD Oil Filter Part # of 00602-90915-007 the TRD filter speced for our Trucks, and to my suprise it spit back to me a WIX IDENTICAL REPLACEMENT PART NUMBER OF WIX #- 51515. The WIX site cross refference engine even reconized that the TRD part number was TOYOTA and gave me their WIX part number equivalent of # 51515. OK, so I went farther and to other sites, that will now reconize the more common WIX Part number and the PURE ONE EQUIVALENT works out to be Part# PL30001 which in turn works to MOTORCRAFT Part# FL-1A.

Also the WIX site gave some very important specs to all their filters and by using their site, all of the above filters have 400 Sq. in. of filter media area, a setting of 8-11 psi bypass vave settings, this lower setting is due to VASTLY BIGGER FILTER AREA OF 400 SQ. IN. and all of thr above mentioned filters will fit our engines !!!!!!!

I did this reshearch for my own peace of mind, I do plan on returning my TRD filters and to purchase the PURE ONE Part# PL-30001 in which I strongly feel is a FAR SUPERIOR FILTER TO THE TRD offering. I know I dont have to get into the Purolator PURE ONE SPECS, They speak for themselves !!!!! 98% one pass efficiency ETC !!!!!

I feel that for the $2-$3 bucks Less a filter I pay for the PURE ONE's I am getting a better filter for the money, and to boot a easier one to get because PEP BOY'S is right down the street and open 7 day's a week !!!!!!!!!!

Purolator Pure One PL10241 is the replacement for the stock Toyota filter. PL30001 is an oversized filter with the same fit.

YES KLS; You are correct Ken, but I am comparing and cross refferencing the part number directly from the TRD filter. in which is a true 1 Quart capacity TRD filter. The WIX Filters sites cross refference engine reconizes the TRD Part# 00602-90915-007 and comes up with the WIX Filter equivalent to the TRD filter and this number is WIX Part# 51515. This WIX Part# 51515 cross references over to the Purolator equivalent Part# PL30001.

YOUR THOUGHTS ON THIS KEN ?????

You might also look at the AMSOIL equivalent filter (SDF 15) if you're looking for good filters. However, you won't find it at Pep Boys.

the pepboys closed down where I live. Where's a good place online or local stores that carry the PL30001?

Take the "5" off of the beginning of the Wix number and you have the NAPA number. A NAPA 1515 or a Motorcraft FL-1A is the standard filter for Ford's going clear back to the 50's. I think a friend at work used to use those on his '71 Land Cruiser before it expired. I hope a Tundra oil pump can put out enough volume to fill the filter quickly on the initial start. It's hard to put much oil in the filter before installation due to the angle it's mounted at.

What is your goal? The WIX 51515 is the filter for older Fords, as DudeBoy said. It provides average filtration and excellent filter construction. The Purolator Pure One PL30001 is the same fit and better filtration. We don't know how well the TRD filters, just that it empties the wallet faster. Any of these will fit the 2UZ-FE engine and filter OK or better. What's wrong with Toyota filters? I have 10,000 miles on my filter and oil, excellent analysis, and keeping it on at least until I get the report of the 12,500 mile analysis. Chinee has 7800 miles on his Pure One filter with an excellent analysis (He doesn't say which model Pure One).
