Engine & DrivetrainDiscussions about the engine and drivetrain of your vehicle.
This is a discussion thread titled "Injectors", within the Engine & Drivetrain forum, part of the Technical & Vehicle Assistance Forums category.
Anyone know where to get Injectors for a 2ZZ? The 04 Matrix manual is the ones I need. These injectors are compatible with the Tundra, and flow twice as much as the Tundra injectors.
I installed my $110 spark plugs, and the truck still pings. Because of where I live, I might have to take the 1mm larger pulley TRD has. I'd hate to lose boost, but.
I had an idea to install a fuel cell, and plumb it to the 9th only, and run pure methanol to that injector. I'm afraid it will put more than 20% in however.
I've see a lot of talk of Water Injection and stuff, but that seems complicated to get the mix right, etc.
I KNOW methanol solves my problem, I ran 100 octane 76 gas that had it in it, and truck never pinged. My old plugs read like the truck was lean, but I'm not convinced it's lean. If the octane rating simply solved the problem, that tells me the boost is such that the fuel was exploding before the spark, in which case, no amount of timing retard would fix it.

Dealership, but I know they won't be cheap! Try a bone yard. There's a all toyota on in pa (215)234-4386. Celica one might work too!

I get a little of what you are trying to do but can you explain in simpler terms what you are trying to do with an Injector and methanol or a Fuel cell is the fuel cell for hydrogen or methanol, and are you trying to get a fuel mix with it for more fuel efficency or more HP. Let me know it sounds interesting. Thanks
Twice as much injector, would be way to much, Without any ways to control fuel managment, except for a FMU..
Try checking out, Aquamist, they have a real nice inexspensive water injection setup..
Also, find out what ratio the disc is in your fmu, You can get different disc's, All the way up to 16:1.

The fuel cell would be like what they use in racing. I'd run pure methanol in it, and plumb it only to the 9th injector, since Toyota added that to provide an "Intercoller effect"... This is only on the supercharged Tundras. I live in CA, and the gas is REALLY bad here, so you can't own a blower with out ping. Toyota says we need to run 94 octane, but we can only buy 91 here. Currently, I have a 5 gallon can of Methanol, and when I fill up the truck, I dump in a gallon of it, and then run the cheap fuel, and the truck runs just fine. I'd like to avoid this manual mixing, and run a seperate fuel tank with only methanol, and have the 9th injector inject it.

The ECU would take care of then when it sensed that it was too fat. There are other injectors out there that don't flow quite as twice as much.
