Engine & DrivetrainDiscussions about the engine and drivetrain of your vehicle.
This is a discussion thread titled "Almost set for the Borla duals", within the Engine & Drivetrain forum, part of the Technical & Vehicle Assistance Forums category.
Just got the OK from my finance administrator (the wife) and I'm pretty much set in ordering the dual split rear Borla exhaust for my '02 Sequoia 4x4 limited. However before making the jump, I'd like to confirm with those who have had it installed that you haven't lost any low-end torque? I ask 'caus I oftentimes tow heavy loads so I would hate loosing all that awesome low RPM torque. I plan doing the headers next spring so at that time, this may no longer be an issue, if it is an issue at all.
How's the vehicle beahaving in the overall RPM powerband? And obviously, looks and sound?
Ive read that if you get duals, dont go bigger than 2 1/4" pipes, or you'll lose low end torque. Ive not added duals, and I dont think I will, since I have a V6 tundra. If I added duals it would be for straight pipes looks and noise.
I have the Borla system on my Tundra ,I don't know about it for the Sequoia but I love mine. The sound is great and it's stainless, it will last against road salt!!!

How could I have missed a "Borla" thread?...sorry I didn't see it sooner. Well, I've had my Borla catback with split side exits for over a year now. I love 'em and NO, NO, NO, I haven't lost any low-end torque. My Tundra still hauls azz off the line, so much so that my POS BFG Rugged Trails are gonna be history shortly. I'm getting Bridgestone Dueler REVO's for a meatier grip on the road. The Rugged Trails spin way too easy on wet/dry roads during acceleration.
Anyway, you'll love the nice deep throaty exhaust note of the Borlas's and PLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEZZZZ....NO WHINING about the so-called 2k RPM drone. The deep exhaust note is MUSIC to the ears!!! ENJOY YOUR BORLA'S!!!
