Engine & DrivetrainDiscussions about the engine and drivetrain of your vehicle.
This is a discussion thread titled ""CHECK ENGINE LIGHT" question", within the Engine & Drivetrain forum, part of the Technical & Vehicle Assistance Forums category.
My neighbor has an 04 Sienna van. About 2000 miles the "check engine " light came on stayed on for a while and went off. Dont remember how long he told me it stayed on but I remember thinking it stayed on long enough to store a code. He took it to the dealership and the service mgr told him it just ment his oil need changing. ----anybody ever heard of that before? ---Buzz

The Sienna has a maintainance light that will go on every 4 months or 5000 miles.
Hey Buzz,
What do you think of that new Sienna? I saw one at work last week. I'm not a fan of that type of vehicle, but gotta admit, it looks pretty sharp. It definitely looks longer than the previous generation. The one I saw was a Salsa Red. I wonder if that maintenance light is similar to what Honda's have. I had a '98 Prelude with that feature....and it would require me to stick the end of my key into a slot in the dash to reset the maintenance reminder light.

Dunno bout Buzz, but I really like the SIenna, I've driven a few at work and have been rather inpressed. TO reset you hold the reset button whille turning on the ign for a few secs, it flashes then goes out!

Yep....I know the Sienna and Odyssy have been in high demand the past few years. Seems like they can't keep them on the lots.
The Sienna has an ultra-modern look to it and I really like those cool headlights. Looks like you could get really comfortable in there.
I checked out the new Nissan Quest (I think that's the name), which has also been reintroduced in an all new look.

My neighbor has the 04 mine is a 2000. I like mine, the 04 has some features that I wish mine had. A little more room the rear seats ( they got that from Honda) little larger motor. I have owned a van since 84. First was a full size Ford, second an Aerostar and now the Sienna. ---Buzz
