I put mine on last summer, I have 77k on the truck now, nothing wierd here either. I'm not sure how much HP I have saved from parasitic loss, but I am going to the NE dyno run in march, so I guess I'll find out then.

Mine's been on since mid September '03 with no problems. The engine knocks, but it did before the pulley change too. I also have an old Ford with a flathead V8 that has no balancer. It's about the same age as I am, and hasn't broke the crank yet. I put bearings in it last in 1975.

Yeah the Ford may be as old as you, but do you have a flathead? (RE the "crank" comment, let's not go there...)

Default New belt needed?

Do you need a new serpentine belt for the pulley install, or will my OEM belt work? I've read through the thread but can't find any mention of it. Thanks.

You'll need a new shorter belt. I don't remember the part#, but the Goodyear 4060887 is listed in another thread.

Well, I had all the pertinent info. linked within the Description of this pic:

http://www.tundrasolutions.com/photo...cat/500/page/1

But alas during the last round of "house cleaning" the important thread "Discussion: Under drive pulley installation" has been removed. Does anyone know if it was combined with another thread? (This thread would be the logical choice but it's not there.) At any rate, here's some info. from my notes:

ACDelco 6k888
Goodyear 4060887
Summit was the best price I could find on the Goodyear belt.

The OE belt on mine is Goodyear, and I'll probably go with the Gatorback for $25.

I went with the Napa belt and it fit perfectly...

Seee-ya,

Jim.

Thanks for the info tremo...I'm going to order my pulley tonight. The belt was the last thing I wasn't sure of. I had done a search on "underdrive pulley" but couldn't find the thread either. Now I'm good.

I was fortunate to live in Houston, and got mine from Mike personally about 2-3 months before any group buy ones went out. I have put over 12K since then. Here's the poop:

Noticeable increase in power
Engine is almost too quiet and runs smooth as silk
Alternator, A/C and lights have shown NO difference - I do have the 130 amp alt
Along with true dual exhaust, undrerdrive pulley, K&N AirCharger, and RAPS I can get 20 MPG on the road - IF I don't let the hammer down

It was the easiest thing I have done and gave instant HP. I can find no negatives what so ever, only positives.

Craig

Thumbs up Underdrive pulley gets two thumbs up

Well I just finished with the underdrive pulley install at my buddy's garage and had a 15 mile drive home. In my opinion this is an awesome mod for the money. Overall my throttle is much snappier then before, the tranny shifts harder andthe truck really pulls all the way to 90mph. I personally don't notice any dimming of my lights even at idle with all accessories on. I went with the Gatorback 4060887 belt which fit great. I would definitely do this mod again and have even talked my dad into getting one for his truck. Thanks to all for help with the part numbers and install tips.

Is the NAPA belt quiet? My buddy uses them on his Pontiac and they always squalled when he hammered it. Of course it was a roller cammed 455.

I have the Napa belt...it fit perfectly and it's quiet. No problems since I installed it months ago...

Not sure how you guys did it with those belts but I just had the UP installed with the help of one TS member in Vegas and the GoodYear belt was too long for the pulley. After a couple of trips to the Checker,we ended up with 2180mm belt and it fit perfect instead of the 2270 posted by others. Could it be the diff. between Tundra and Sequoia? FWIW.

Frank.
