Default I wouldn't bother...

This mod is for 93-98 Supra's, not the 4.7L (not a 4.0L) Tundra. If you're looking for more power, this is not the way to go about getting it, and, in fact, the truck will probably perform worse if you mess with any of the EGR stuff.

My .02 cents...

Jim.

I would bet money that no one on this site has done this mod to their Tundra...

Seee-ya,

Jim.

on my motorcycle, i've tried with and without EGR and found no power differences. just less weight if the EGR is removed. this is on a high-strung 200hp/liter motor, where every little bit counts.

if you did this on a car, i'm sure the check engine light would come on. the smog police doesn't want you to fiddle with emissions. it would not be worth pursuing unless you had some extensive race-only mods.

Seee-ya,

Jim.
That's because an EGR valve does not exist in the 4.7 V8.
From his username and mention of the 4.0 V8 I'm guessing he has a pre-VVTi Lexus LS400.

Disable or block the EGR and the general result is a gas ping or knock under acceloration.
Then there is the added fun of cleaning the (plugged with carbon) EGR passages when and if you do try to get it smogged again.

Do we have EGR on the V8? I don't think so - but I am not sure.
