My truck always made the "normal" sewing machine sound and the Injetors clicking away.

But then one day i heard this jingling sound and the tech said the tensioner was bad so he replace that and put a new belt on it also. The next morning when I started the truck about 5 minutes into warming up right when the it idles down all of a sudden there is a clunking or knocking sound that lasts for about 10 to 15 minutes.

I took a pc of a broom stick and put it on bolts and different places on the motor.

I can feel the tapping and hear the tapping/clunking/knocking comming from behind the passenger side black timing belt case. Using this stick i think i have pin pointed it.

The service advisor finaly heard it but only after i went down there to pick up my truck and was told they couldnt duplicate it.

They were listening to it at cold start but not giving it enough time to actualy idle down and hit that certain temp . So im bringing it in friday night and going there saturday AM to go through the whole thing with the tech himself.

The service advisor said its ok to drive and not to worry about it, they will find out what it is and fix it. I hope that driving it isnt hurting it in any way.

Ill let you all know what we find saturday.

If this sounds like your knocking noise check the black timing belt covers and directly behind then on the aluminum where the bolts stick out. Listen with a stick or engine stethascope and see if you can pick up the noise in there.

I wish I knew how to make a sound clip and put it on here.

Hmmm
