This is a discussion thread titled "Nitrous on Tundra V8?", within the Engine & Drivetrain forum, part of the Technical & Vehicle Assistance Forums category.
does anybody know of a nitrous kit for the v8? how much $$$ is it, my buddy says he knows a guy who just flipped and totalled his tundra in the desert and he is selling his 100-shot nitrous kit. But I haven't found a kit out, is this guy just feeding us b.s.?
No, there are kits for the Tundra out there. There have actually been a couple up for sale by members here before. There was also a former member of the site who sold a kit for the Tundra. I am not sure of his contact information because he was banned from the site for some conflicts of interest, but yes, there are kits out there.

you can basically make your own kit with some knowlege and skills. if you get a port that is made for an intake tube, install that in your intake tube, then do all the wiring and such it wouldnt be that hard. check with companies like zex and check for their availibility and if they dont have something, ask if it can be put together very easily. im not sure, but a tacoma kit may work for the v6, not completely sure about that though
The Lightening throttle body is ready whenever people want it so I hear. I was told that it will work on 03's as well as older models, but the older models will lose cruise control.

The throttle body is completely replaced with one from a Ford Lightning. Apparantly they match up well, except 00'-02's will lose cruise control. Someone may try to make some kit to compensate for this tho, but doesn't have any ideas how yet.

hmm, i was thinking about using aftermarket 5.4L MAF sensor before. now i'll look into the throttle too. the both of them should be able to handle lots of airflow. thanks.

i really think that the throttle body will offset the headers for matched intake and exhale. im looking forward to having money so i can do this. have just ruled out the idea of getting rid of my tundra because it seems like the aftermarket may be starting to come around, well see!
