Default SUSPECT it's just a tube body to replace the catalytic converter

back up thru the early 90s, you can buy at the auto supply houses, "tester" catalytic converter tubes - basically exhaust line with flanges that would replace your existing catalytic converter
they were primarily for shops before all the electronic testing equipment was in common use, to allow a mechanic to remove the catalytic conv to see if problems vehicle was experiencing went away with the cataylitic converter

well, general public started buying them like crazy cause you also picked up a couple of horse power on smaller engine vehicles and they you were also free to use leaded fuel (while it was still available)

feds eventually caught on and banned them

that just looks like a chromed version of same thing

Default only offered it as speculation, but can you

think of what else it could possibly be?
a high flow catalytic converter descript - not sure if that's oxymoronic or redundant description
i just put a new converter on my 91 Montero, orig Mitsubishi, and the catalytic converters today aren't restricting flow - i could look thru from one end to the other and basically just appeared to be a series of maybe 4 screens like aluminum screen door (not alum, obviously) but openings in screen were about 40 -50 thou

not much in the way of restriction there, so to be higher flow, would have to be like the "tester" tubes of the 80s
and i know leaded gas ain't available today, was just passing on one of the reasons the test tubes sold

go to Magic Catz home website
pretty basic web site, selling only to export markets outside japan

you've heard the old saying, a sucker born every minute
they're just hyping something to sell they think they can dupe a market into buying -

catalytic converters ain't cheap to buy, and suspect construction costs are higher because of whatever alloy the screens are fabricated from or coated with

just don't believe a mfgr could short cut those costs and still achieve the effect a real converter would

ergo, hollow tube similiar

just 02

Thumbs down

That's just a stainless steel resonator. Real converters have some sort of heat shield and would require a much larger casing to hold the core.

Like the $20 Tundra "performance chip",it's another BS ebay item.
