Default Power Steering Fluid

I have switched to Mobil 1 for my engine oil, ATF, and Gear Lube for the differential. Can I use Mobil 1 ATF for the power steering unit? If I remember correctly the owner's manual specifies Dexron II or Dexron III. What is everyone using to top off the power steering reservoir? Thanks to all.

Ya, you can use a baster to suck the old stuff out and swap with synthetic ATF!

Is this correct? We can use Mobil ATF fluid for the braking fluid? Is it the same as Braking fluid?

No. Most definitely not.

Only use DOT 3 or DOT 4 brake fluid for the brake fluid resorvoir. Do not use DOT 5 silicon brake fluid since it is not compatible with the existing brake fluid.

Here is a link that discusses brake fluids http://www.shotimes.com/SHO3brakefluid.html

You can use a Dexron III Automatic Transmission Fluid (ATF) in your power steering resorvoir (check your owners manual - all this stuff is in there). Mobil 1 Synthetic ATF is Dexron III rated and a good choice for your power steering unit.
