dang! perfect except for the intake location! though i'm sure that it could be modded up high...impossible to take a water crossing like that unfortunately.
Then I am going to hook it up. I don't want the supercharger, and I dont want to spend the $4500 for it. This looks like a viable system for what I want to do.

Check ebay occasionally if you want one of these. They go for pretty cheap usually. But I have to agree with Deepstealth. I really don't like the location that they've remote mounted it. I can just imagine all the mud I'd be sucking into a brand new turbo system...

i posted about this kit a couple of months ago or so. a guy on another borad im apart of Texas Racing Scene, had one done on an LT1 Z28 and it caused a huge discussion that got blown outta proportion. id rather do a cutom kit or even the one from australia beore id go with the remotely located turbo. just think of the oil lines you have to run and all the other things necessary to make it work.
on a V8 engine wouldn't you prefer a bi-turbo setup??? Also even though its a small turbo setup I'd at least like a system with an intercooler(which I did not see pictured).
yes, i would like a TT, but their system looks like it attaches more or less to a stock setup behind the y-pipe...just a guess tho, they didnt show a full picture. with their setup the way it looks, no reason you cant use headers. overall, it's a pretty nice design, except for the location of the intake...with TT, no reason you couldnt do something similar on the other side, but if you look under the truck on the inside of the driver's frame rail you'll see why the exhaust etc. is routed on the *other* side of the truck.
$3995 with a 6 hour setup that can be done by anyone with mechanical experience. Still not cost effective. The turbo is oil cooled, if you read the FAQ's. a very nice system. Knock off $500 and I'm down with it.

I had doubts about this setup,so I emailed Rick Squires @ STS about the placement, etc. and he does know his stuff. I've also talked to the person who builds the optional methanol/water injection system (well known for his systems used in Supras) and he tells me Rick is legit.
There are two reasons why the hp/torque readings are so low. First is he's located in a high-altitude area (higher altitudes = less power) and second is because he used a G-Tech. Rick also mentions the G-Tech gave consistent test results and that a real chassis dyno was too long of a drive.
Their dyno sheet shows 4,900 feet elevation. That would cause a pretty drastic drop in power, also a pressure fed engine should make significantly more power at higher elevation than a stock one.
Any reputable company that plans on selling any of these 4000.00 goodies better make the time to do before and after chassis dyno's. The people who want this stuff tend to put a lot of research into it before taking a leap that big.

We probebly beat this up already, has anyone seen the chargers by thomas knight? boosthead.com they are making a version to fit on 4.0l and above.
