Default Ram air intake???

has anyone tried out the ram air intake in the ts store. im curious to the quality of this product as well of the performance it delivers, if any. however i do know that cold air is much more dense and my timing wont retard my timing, also puts less stress on the motor which is a plus. i have the intake from ss autochrome i think it is on ebay and am pleased with its performance, plus it makes noise! does the ram air work with this intake??? any help would be greatly appreciated guys. thanks

Hey SilverTRD,

I was one of the beta testers for Tremo's RAPS kit. I copied my post from a past thread on the kit..... JB

Things I've noticed:
1.) Better low end throttle response.
2.) More power when using 2nd gear going up hills.
3.) I have a lot more power at lower speeds. It can really take off if pressed.
4.) The truck is fun to drive a little more aggressively and still maintains a good mpg. I'm still over 17 mpg after 4 tanks. I'm trying real hard to drive a whole tank w/o punching it more than I have to.
5.) The FIPK really works well w/the kit. If you thought your FIPK worked before, it WORKS well now..!!!
6.) It makes my FM 40 muffler sound a little smoother.

Hope this helps. You can also do a "search" on RAPS and get more info.....

Cool More info on RAP System...

Hi SilverTRD,

Check out the FAQ and the Installation Instructions on my Web site for more details. Here's a recent quote from a customer re his 7% gas mileage improvement:

Quote:
...After just completing my second tank of gas with it on my truck I can say this - it works! The truck seemed to have a little more pep, but I thought I might be reading into it. The numbers don't lie though, I normally average 16.5 miles per gallon, I now get 18.1 mpg.

Thanks,

R. Smith

Since the SS Autochrome intake is a K&N FIPK knock-off, the FIPK version of the RAP System will work just fine. If you have any additional questions, feel free to send me a PM.

Seee-ya!

Jim.
