Default Strange noise?

I have recently been getting a strange howling noise around 2.5K rpm under acceleration. Anyone else experince this. My truck has 5K miles.

Check and see if the neighbors cat is stuck in the engine compartment.

Dont want to scare you but I would take it in. Any idea where the noise is coming from? Often if there is a problem with the rear end it will make that kind of noise under power at a certain rpm.
Good luck. Hopefully someone can tell you more :-)

Checked for the cat, no go. I really cannot tell where the noise is coming from. I want to say from the front or underneath me, but I am not totally sure.
