I figured i shouldnt blow 3oo bucks on an entire new intake if im gonna lose low end power, but i was wonderin if i just bought a new air filter, say TRD, if it would help any. I also am lookin for good throttle response, I've got TRD duals, but i need more power. Any advice?
I've used all three... K+N, TRD, and Paper. If there's a difference, it is minimal. I actually "feel" like I get better low end with the stock paper filter than with either of the others. Mileage is the same.
Sold my K+N, but I have my used TRD filter if you want to give it a try.
Use the OEM air filter, and clean your throttle body. Now for controversy, I like the Bosch Platinum +4s. Less controversial, pull a plug and inspect it. My original plugs were fouled at 700 miles, I went with the +4s and I'm over 30,000 with no problems.
omg man get in on the group buy for the unichip - look at the dyno chart for a stock tundra - power up the ying yang -mang plus we just hit 40 so we get 20% off now!
The TRD dual exhaust is the source of loss of power at lower RPM.....kinda sucks. I have read many comments from other members who said that anyway. Get in on Unichip if you can.
