Default TRD and performance

Well to the fellas who have reached in the wallet and pulled out the hard earned cash and put it in the hands of TRD what are your thoughts now? Lightnings putting out 400h.p,Audi V8 turbo puts out 450 H.P. ,Infinity V8 puts out 340 H.P.,.
.....Hello TRD why cant you hear your customers?

Befor buying my truck i reseached the hell out of other vehicles, lightning (not 4x4=pos in rain/snow ) , STI (awsome but mini car , no protection) , Evolution ( awsome but same problem as STI plus its ugly ), Tundra w/TRD supercharger ( wasnt hard choice ,rock solid, great looking, fast ).

I bought my truck and the TRD supercharger at the same time and after getting in it and driving i wasnt as impressed as i should have been. The dyno numbers they display to sell this unit are simply wrong, now with that said -
we ( badass americans ) loved the product but wanted more - this is where some thanks is in order i belive......to the TS member who really helped us S/C guys reach this new road, the road of Unichip power -the way TRD should have did it TO START! - could have been diffrent TRD , Should have been TRD making all this usable power for the coin we droped on our blowers!

Who got this ball rolling way back when?....
Letter to TRD for what it is worth!

This guy deserves some credit fellas cause without his work with Jack @ Unichip and his experience from dealing with TRD products ( 2 Toyota trucks with TRD blowers ) we would not have the pleasure of just pluging in our soon to be Unichips- instead we would have to get them hard wired in by a Unichip dealer and then get them dynoed -lots more money and time and hassle -

With this being said - I will be the first one to thank Scott " scdtrd "
the guy in 'bama who talked to the man at Unichip and got us to this point.
Not to mention the work with level 10 and endless information sharing

It'll be interesting to see ALL the positive AND negative comments about the Unichip after everybody has them installed. Let the comments roll in once the first 10 Unichips are installed. It happens with EVERY single product.. gotta have two sides to EVERY damn thing you try.

what would be more intresting is a TS member driving up next to your truck at a red light and he has the unichip and you dont. oh thats right you wouldnt try to race cause theres two sides to every race -winner and you.

There is something strange about dropping some serious cash on an "expected as advertised" power gain with less than stellar performance (supercharger)and then spending some serious cash on a (unichip) that has not much more than an advertised expectation

I was fortunate enough to drive a supercharged 03tundra before purchasing a supercharger for myself (not enough difference for 5k++).Although my expectations were raised considerably by a test drive in an 03 Cobra mustang the same week.... I know, not even comparable but still.

Good luck with the Unichips though I hope they are everything they have been made out to be. As for me I will sit back and read the best Tundra forum around and base my decision on input from other T.S. members

This coudn't be more true. I will wait and watch and get jealous and then upset I didn't purchase one sooner. Or, I will wait and watch and be happy I didn't spend all that money on something I didn't get good use out of. We shall see.

You should stick around TS long enough to understand how it works. It works by sharing "other" users experiance. And every testimony of a unichip user has been positive to the best of my knowledge. Which would include the 2 test trucks that both had very good revues and are members as well. All this info is just waiting to be discovered...but there are some that will be blinded by narrow vision.

I've been thinking about TRD and the hold they placed on the supercharger.

A sequence of events that although could be a coincidence seems to have been arranged.

Updated Unichip Info!!!!!
2/16/04
This post gives a timeline of where we were at in the Group Buy on the Unichip - we had enough guys who wanted in -many of which for the simple reason of replacing the TRD piggyback ecu. hmmmmmmm......
Now go back and look when Steve was made aware of the Hold on the TRD Superchargers , 2/18/04..........

The reason im wondering about this is the simple fact that all the superchargers are fine -I know of no major or minor problems with the V8 superchargers except they are a disapointment in the power dept. and many of us have had them on our engines for some time now trouble free -

so could this simply be TRD jumping in to change the piggyback for good or bad reasons? Ill leave that statement open to the imagination
