Engine & DrivetrainDiscussions about the engine and drivetrain of your vehicle.
This is a discussion thread titled "Fuel Injector Cleaner?", within the Engine & Drivetrain forum, part of the Technical & Vehicle Assistance Forums category.
After using Primrose exclusively for a year, I have found my mileage went from 14 to mid 16s. As stated earlier, I went to Bridgestone AT Revos, so I think it would be even higher with other tires based on other treads about these tires. However, I like the way the ride and look. I'm good with 16!
What i have read in the past, if it comes in a plastic bottle it is not strong enough to do much. I use BG 44 about every 5000 miles, its not cheap about $20. a can. " JUST SAY NO TO PLASTIC"
I have had good results with the Primrose product. By the way, hydrochloric and sulfuric acid comes in plastic bottles and will eat right through your engine block. Just because something comes in a plastic container doesn't mean it must be weak.

My point is that the container a product is packaged in does not necessarily say anything about its ability to dissolve unwanted deposits in the fuel system. Primrose is fairly corrosive and the warning is on the PLASTIC bottle that it comes in. It certainly dissolves any varnish from old gas. Just because something comes in a metal container does not make it any better or worse for the job. Same can be said of products in plastic containers. Try the product and see if it performs as advertised and don't make assumptions based on the container.

I have been using BG 44 since the late 70.s when i had Volvos but i am willing to try Primrose if i can find it, i am in a very rural area. 8000 sq miles with 40000 people.
I have never seen Primrose for sale anywhere in Northern California. I ordered mine from the AV Lubricants website that is linked in one of the previous posts.
