Default i thought the manual hub kit was full float. what gives?

the passenger side hub pulls away from the driveshaft just fine, the driver side does not. anyone had this problem? was one side installed improperly?

i tried to change a torn outer cv boot yesterday evening, but the driver side halfshaft seemed like it was mounted solid in the hub. afaik this should not be, the passenger side is properly mounted and does float away from the driveshaft when released.

anyone think of what the problem is? i dont think theres a snap ring, just a spacer ring to keep the driveshaft from falling too far in toward the hub, i thought it rested against the cv core.

which side is installed improperly? i guess to change the boot i'll have to take off the whole damn halfshaft again, slide both boots off, and put them on via the differential side of the halfshaft, but that seems like an awful lot of unnecessary trouble.

help?

Does this help? Sounds like the axles are just rusted or stuck in the hubs.Take a large pointed punch, place it in the center of the axle and tap it out. Be careful not to hit the threads.
Let me know

the hubs were converted to manual about a year ago, the stock setup is semi float and has a crown nut keeping the axle in. the full float kit has a lock ring keeping the hub (cv, stub, bearing, spindle) together, but shouldnt have anything keeping the halfshaft attached to the cv joint. im going to call ors shortly, see if they have any ideas, and bug the installer as well.

mike's comment (mike @ ors): "check your lock ring on the passenger side" .

it isnt supposed to come out, not at all...so i'll just change it from the inside tonight, that's easy enough.
