Pictures of SS Autochrome Compared with JBA Headers
I know there was lots o' questions regarding the difference between the SS Autochrome headers and the JBA's. Well take a look in my gallery for a side by side comparison. I recently purchased the titanium coated JBA's off TS member dpeete (thanks, Doug!) and have had the SSA 's off of ebay (Stone Mountain Racing, SS Autochrome, Inc.) for a while now.
The initial quality on the welds, bends and craftsmanship definitely favors the JBA's, although some of their imperfections may have been masked by the coating. The Firecone is definitely a nice idea, but in who knows what the 'real world' effects on overall torque and hp are.
The SSA's seem like they are stout and I have only minor complaints regarding their workmanship. But for less than 1/2 the price, definitely the better bang for the buck!
The biggest difference is in the diameter of the tubes, SSA have a larger diameter than the JBA's.
The OEM metal gaskets seem the best, and the other two are very similar. The JBA set came with some cardboard looking collector flange gaskets, so I imagine those will get replaced with OEM crush gaskets as well.
Anyway, comments are welcome, I was just posting for those of you considering buying headers.
PS - The SSA's are for sale! See my sig line!

There is a comparison of the two on the dyno in my dyno pictures. I have also had the JBA headers and now have the SSautochrome and the JBA feel like they have better low end torque than the SSautochrome.

Can't comment on JBA's but I can on the S&S. I had mine chromex ceramic coated, ontop of stainlees header and with 1/2 thick flanges....these will last the life of the truck (should). Total cost $340.00....and makes my billet engine bay look totally sweet! Plus...the sound and power improvement was quite nice
I did grind flanges flat on 24" disc grinder, (slight warp from weld heat), and polished the collectors and ports prior to coating, and used OEM metal gaskets.....and recomend doing so.
