You know what I've been thinking, maybe the oil filter is the culprit here. Some filters hold more oil and some less. After I switched to Mobil 1 filter from Fram I had to put in more oil than I used to.

The Toyota filter is kind of small and thats what I used but a quart is a lot. Dont think a Mobil 1 filter would hold that much.Dont know---Buzz
nope its the smae size. its not a good i dea to put a bigger or smaller filter on. it was designed for that size so keep that size. but 6 qts. and a fram 3614 is what it takes.
I have a spark plug change question for everybody with 190 horse V6. Oh, by the way, I always fill 5.5 qts with oil and filter change. OK, I'm not a huge mechanic guy, but do take pride in doing as much routine maintenence as I possibly can. So, now my truck is ready for the first spark plug change (oh why oh why couldn't my truck have the same 125,000 mile plugs like my wife's new RAV4??!!) and I'm quite disappointed that I actually have to take apart my engine to change the plugs!! OK, a slight overstatement, but I was just curious if someone who has done this for themselves could give me a few pointers before I start tearing hoses and such off my engine to get to those pesky plugs! thanks, Jaderain
