Default SS Autochrome V6 Headers Group Buy

I don't mean to sound impatient, but how long till SSAutochrome start sending out the headers for this GB? Were the headers already made or were they waiting for final count till they started manufacturing? I'm sure the rest of us have the same questions. Sorry for being a pain.

No pain at all. They've already been produced, and it is my understanding that they were to be shipped as soon as they recieved final payment...I'll shoot them an email and see what the deal is.

Thanks for the update Erik .

I can be a very impatient person when it comes to my truck . I have already completed the S/C install, which I must say runs really smooth now (and fast ). The truck is getting a new alarm this Saturday . Also, the local Toyota dealer will be installing a new clutch on the 16th . Talk about a busy month . Now all thats left is the headers.

Once again for being such a patient GB administrator.

John

UPDATE:

Guess what guys! I just received the headers in the mail today . As soon as I got home I opened it up to check everything and found that all was ok. It all looks good. I took some pictures of packaging and stuff that I'll post later.

There was one thing that troubled me though. There were no gaskets or hardware that came with the headers. Does this mean that I would have to find somegrade 8 nuts and bolts myself? Are these headers suppose to come with hardware?

Erik, if you can find this out for me that would be great. Besides that minor inconvenience, I am very satisfied.

Thanks,
John

Default you got them today, and your in guam?

Island Tundra did you have your headers express delivered? I sent my final payment in on the 26th and nothing in the mail yet. Guess I will shoot them an e-mail.

As for the gaskets, I read other posts that others that bought from ss didn't get gaskets either. And one guy pm'd me that it was best to use the stock nuts and bolts, and the oem gaskets.

Anyways glad to hear you are happy with your purchase, I'll be just as happy when mine show up, too.

Actually, they were shipped priority to me. The funny thing was that I didn't request any specific shipping methods. I think that the way the postal service works right now, any big item that is shipped to Guam would be recommended by the postmaster to be shipped priority. Plus, I didn't bother with the down payment. I just sent SSAutochrome the full amount on the 24th. Just be checking your mail, they should be there soon.

As for the gaskets and bolts, I would have to see if there is enough hardware for the install. With the new headers, the pipe from the forward most driver side has to be bolted to the flange on the driver side. Hopefully the shop that is going to install this will have their own supply. Now the gasket I would have to check the local Toyota dealer if they have any in stock. Shouldn't be to bad.

Also, I have uploaded some pictures of the packaging and the headers themselves. Excuse some of the dark pictures, still trying to learn the "New Camera" . Its kinda like Christmas in July for me .

From everything I've read, you need the paper gaskets because the metal ones from Toyota will leak! Also, applying some RTV at the Y connection will keep that from leaking as well.

Default How are they?

Anyone from the GB installed their headers yet? How was the install? Were special tools needed?

Is there a performance/sound difference?

Were they worth it?

Sorry man, I'm having a shop install mine. That way they should have all the necessary nuts and bolts and gaskets. Also, it saves me the time and hassle. And I believe there is also a 1 year warranty on installation so if it leaks I could just take it back and they fix it. We'll see. It's gonna cost me $240 for installation. I'll take pictures when done.

Default Headers?

Has anyone received their SS Autochrome headers yet? Since the group buy I purchased Trd bilsteins shocks for the front and 5100 bilsteins for the rear along with 1.5" add-a-leafs. Guess what, the shocks and add-a-leafs got here today and still no headers. I think I am gonna have to give them a call, I tried to get in contact with them by e-mail last a couple of days ago and no response.

I purchased the shocks and add-a-leafs from Wheeler's Off Road. I must say they have excellent customer service and speedy delivery. Wheeler's Off Road gets a 10 in my book.

Let me know if you come up with a phone number. The set I received won't fit due to some problems with the left header. I've sent an email and faxed them and haven't heard anything.

Nope, there is no phone number on the site. I sent them another e-mail yesturday and still no reponse today. I do not like th way these people conduct business.

You say there is a problem with the left header? Man I am starting to like I made a big mistake by taking the cheaper route!

Island Tundra have you had any problems with the insallation?

Question anybody got them on yet?

It has been about a month since my last post on this subject.

I was wondering if anyone that was in on the group buy has got a chance to put them on? Or if ss autochrome has sent any replacements heeders to the buyers that recieved headers that didn't fit?

I hope everything went well, that you were able to get them on and they lived up to the hype. In my opinion I was fortunate that I was able to get out of the group buy, and recieve a refund.

Let us know how everything went. Inquirering mind want to know.

Default Re: Who got their SS Autochrome V6 Headers Group Buy?

I am new to this site and am considering SSAUtoChrome headers for my 01 Tundra. Anyone have a good report on your installs. Headers are available on ebay for $279 a set and includes hardware and gaskets. I wonder why you all didn't get that same deal.
