It's very subtle... I'm not for loud mufflers, so it does the job for me... However it sure don't sound like a muscle truck nor does it sound like something anyone else next to you would be thinking about...

With the radio off, you do hear it, so I'll just leave it at that...

Default 05 sound

I have drivin' a couple of 05's so far and they pretty much have no exhaust noise at all unlike the previous models with the 3.4 that have a noticeable bark wich in my opinion sounded great.I'm still on the fence on buying one since my 01 V6 TRD 5spd/SC has on ly 17k on it and is in perfect condition and hauls ***.The new 6spd is noisy in first gear and the clutch action is lazy compared to mine.I also noticed more engine noise on the 4.0 over the 3.4

I was actually asking about LGL002's but now that you mention it, how does yours sound cruising. I've heard the x-pipe changes things a little bit.

Talking

The ONLY thing I hear is the injector "tap" at low-mid rpms, and when you "romp" on the gas, I hear ALOT of good induction noise coming from around the throttlebody area and airbox. Otherwise, this motors exhaust note doesnt really exist....

I'm still not sure how it would sound with a smaller performance muffler, but I must admit I'm tempted to disconnect the system after the cat, to hear how RAW its unmuffled sound would be

the x runner have a different exhaust? its throaty as hell.......and can be heard from in and outstide. pulling up to my house it is audible in the house (my brother and i have x runners.) maybe check into x runner mufflers if thats the case, it sounds very nice, and isnt overpowering.

JP Performance is going to be doing a full exhaust on my X-Runner. I'll get some sound clips after. But it won't happen for another month or so.

Although I love the sound of the exhaust, I didn't think it was that loud at all... I heard it in the cabin when i drove it, but it was also helped because the sound echoed throughout the camper shell and the back window opened...

My experience is of the X-Runner only... So if the regular 05s sound even lighter, then by gosh thats silent!! LOL...

mine has also gotten significantly louder in the cold..i actually like it better now than before..i felt that before during the heat of the summer i was wanting to hear it more and i think that the way it is now in the winter is perfect..

as far as cruising speeds i don't feel my exhaust is in any way annoying or tiresome at all..i go back home at least once a month in my truck..4 hours each way and the exhaust in no way bothers me..i listen to the radio the whole way and just on regular volumes it just becomes background noise..i also do have 2 layers of sound deadener throughout my entire truck along with 1 inch foam in all of the doors which helps a whole lot..

i love my exhaust..the only downside is that it is expensive..real expensive..

i'm actually thinking about getting a cutout at some point..so then i can get real loud..hehe..

Here it is!!

Flowmaster 50 Series (single) with custom piping, SS Autochrome Headers and Y-Pipe, and an AEM Brute Force Intake.

Default SpinTech

I am also looking to get an exhaust, but keep hearing that the spintech muffler w/ the stock piping is the way to go. I am really looking to increase torque, not so much the sound. Has anyone already done this? If so, how do you like it? any sound clips?

Default Question to All

I spoke to the guys at Spintech in Riverside, and they recommended that I run their Sportsman XL Part# 3333, in place of the stock muffler and replacing the stock resonator with a stright 2 1/2" pipe. I actually wanted the Truck/ RV muffler part# 8333 (their quietest muffler) because I use my truck for driving clients around for work, and I can't have it to loud in the cab. The Spintech guy mentioned there might be a clearance issue with the truck/rv muffler due to its size (hence less noise).

Has anyone heard of somebody running the Spintech Truck/ RV muffler?

Appreciate any information

I found out what the resonator does with this website.

The resonator is simply a hollow can which prevents the sound of the exhaust to resonate in the cab of your truck (which it sounds like you might need)... so, in short... "nope".

removing the resonater does nothing to add hp, all it does is make the exhaust louder, and makes more drone. so if you like drone, then take it out, if u dont like drone, leave it im.
