Default Is the Borla Dual Catback loud?

I just took off the Performance Products catback system because it had this awful drone inside the cabin at 1800-2000 RPM.

Does anyone have the Borla Dual setup (part # 140000)for the Sequoia? Is the noise inside the cabin tolerable? Would the single exhaust Borla (part #14958) be quieter? How about the TRD catback?

it will be the same. Every exhuast has a droning noise. To me the PP exhuast isn't bad at all compared to the brands you listed.

Default Borla Duals

I have the Borla duals and I don't think that there is a drone at the RPM's you mentioned. My wife drives it on a daily basis and she would let me know if there is a drone/noise that she doesn't like. I love the Borla system and highly recommend it

I had Borla's on my last two 4-Runners. They are excellent ... perfect tone and sound level under hard acceleration, but are very quiet "at speed".

I ran a Magnaflow cat back on my 4runner inside noise was no louder than stock, but outside sounded great . local dealer (muffler shop) that did my runner quoated me $270 for catback system installed for my 03 sequoia. I am really thinking hard about doing it. did any of you notice any performance/gas miliage increase?

I'm running Borla dual side exit on my '03. I guess there is some drone at highway speeds but it isn't that bad IMO. I feel the drone situation is going to be different from person to person based on their preferences. So, if you have 10 different people rating the same exhaust system you would probably come out with 7 or 8 different answers. I can only tell you that based on my personal preferences I like the Borla system.

Default Borla with dual exhausts

2k drone - for sure.
It sounds great and it annoys me at the same time.
Nothing sounds better than that V8 on Borla. But, that 2k drone is a little much for everyday driving.

Default Sound clip

If I ever get around to it, I'll try and make a sound clip of my exhaust and post it. I have the FIPK intake so you'll hear that too (too loud when you punch it).

I've got the borla system on my tundra and I love it. There is some drone, but its not loud. The system overall is pretty quite until you get on it and then it will scream.

Just wondering if you ever did get time to make that clip. I'd love to hear how it sounds like on the Sequoia (I searched for other Sequoia's with Borla exhausts in the video gallery section but turned up nothing).

Hows the Borla sound like on the Sequoia? Is it a nice real throaty V8? I'm close to buying a Borla dual side exhaust...

Thumbs up 2K Drone - Yeah Baby!

I am running the following on my '03 Ltd 4wd Sequoia:

TRD - CatBack Exhaust
JBA - CatFwd Headers
UniChip

I put the TRD CatBack in 1st, then did the other two upgrades.
The "drone" from 1500 to 2000 RPMs is pretty loud.
Heh-heh....better get a bigger audio amplifier!
There was no noticeable increase in noise with the headers, just better throttle response from 3-4K RPMs
My wife says she feels like she is driving a "speedboat"!
She dislikes driving my vehicle and prefers her quiet 5-series BMW wagon.
Go figure!
