When you purchase a TRD dual exhaust from toyota...is it through one pipe or does the "dual" in trd dual exhaust mean you get two pipes with two tips?
It is a single inlet dual outlet muffler with dual tips that come out of each side behind the mudflap. Check out some of the pictures of it in my photo gallery.

I tried going through your album (nice pics by the way!) but only found a few that pertained to the TRD dual exhaust and those few didn't show me the two tips really. I get what you are saying though...Your tips seem to be coming out of the side though...is there a way you can make both tips stick out towards the bumper? Also...there are two tips, one on the right and one on the left right?

You are correct...there are two tips, one on the right and left. The TRD exhaust does not come in a rear exit configuration.
While you can not get the TRD duals in rear exit formation you can get a borla exuast in rear exit formmation, if I am not mistaken borla manufactored the trd duals. Although if you went with the borla you wouldnt have the sexy "TRD" logo engraved on the tips
How much do these exhaust systems cost? Where would be the best place to get them and get them installed?
I am in the ATL area, anyone here got a good success story?
Just wondering
Carson Toyota is selling out their inventory of TRD dual exhausts for $599. These are a little expensive, but the quality is very good. Shipping is free, so it doesn't matter where you live. Here is the thread......http://www.tundrasolutions.com/forum...ad.php?t=29749
FYI, I searched high & low and could not find the TRD dual-exit exhaust for less than Carson's $600.
Remember that the TRD exhaust is all stainless, as is JBA EVOL cat back (I think). Many of the less expensive exhaust systems are not stainless. The fit and finish of the TRD kit is top notch, and that is from personal experience with purchase and installation. I recall paying about $580 for my duals on sale from Conicelli (TS sponsor, see link above) in 2001. Just my $.02, TIFWIW.

Just wondering thoughts on if the TRD exhaust is better than Flow Master or Magna Flow or any others. Seems they are close price wise. I have listened to video clips of Tundra's with different exhaust and they all sound great. Also, does anyone know approx. how much of a hp gain someone could expect from duals?

No benefit other than sound at the bottom end... perhaps even some torque loss, but I didn't notice any difference at all. Likewise, I saw no change in gas mileage. Power at the top end? I couldn't honestly tell you... I've never found my Tundra lacking except when it's not "in the band".
I'm sure there's a measurable increase at the top end, but it's not something you'll really feel in the seat of your pants.
As far as differences between FM or MF, I looked at it as appearance and durability. The TRD is completely polished stainless (the muffler looks like a milk truck), and the TRD etched tips look sweet.
I picked a high-perf dual system for the sound, and I picked the TRD for appearance. I was happy with my stock performance, and would have been happy with any aftermarket that didn't actually hurt performance.
