Default '03 Tacoma 2.7 PCV Valve Question

I have a '03 Tacoma DC with the 2.7 liter 4 cylinder. This evening I bought a genuine Toyota PCV valve for it since it is comming up on 30,000 miles. I noticed that the valve has threads on it instead of the traditional "pull-out-type" valve. There is a pink coating on the threads of the new PCV valve. Is this the right valve for this engine? I ask this because looking at the Haynes manual for the 1995-2000 model years, there is a picture of the same engine with the "pull-out-type" valve.

Also, if the threaded valve is the right type of valve for this engine, is the original factory valve hard to remove? If so I may just use the "if it ain't broke don't fix it" rule and just leave the old one in for at least another 20,000 miles since I use Amsoil 100% synthetic oil.

The newer VVTi Toyota/Lexus V6's have a thread-on valve,so they probably have done the same for the 4-cylinders. My guess for the change, less chance of a vacuum leak at higher mileage since there's no rubber grommet that hardens with heat and oil contact. The pink coating is a anti-seize or sealer.

It won't hurt replacing the valve, the usual replacement interval is at 60,000 miles. Removal isn't hard, should be a 17mm wrench or socket.
