Default Transmission cooler missing!

I am an owner of a 2004 Tundra SR5 Double Cab and have the original window sticker verifying that a transmission cooler is a standard part for this vehicle. However, after several months of arguing with the dealership they finally agree there is no transmission cooler installed on my truck. They are in the process of working with the local Toyota Rep., but have made mention that this is a factory only installed part. I called Toyota's customer support and they say the same. This does not make much sense to me as I know of other trucks where this part is installed after market. Can someone point to strong evidence that this part can in fact be installed after market or point me in the right direction for what my rights are and what recourse I have considering that the final answer might be it cannot be installed once the truck leaves the factory. I got the truck for the towing capacity and without this part my towing is very limited.

Thanks in advance.

I have the Toyota installed cooler, don't know if it is available or not after it leaves the factory, but I think there are even better coolers available that are non-Toyota. I forget the name at the moment, but there has been some discussion of them in this forum.

Request that your dealer install the TRD cooler @ no charge.

I believe all of the earlier V8 Tundra's were factory equipped with an auxilliary cooler in front of the AC condenser. Now most of them just have the one that's built into the bottom of the radiator.

Contact transdude (ts member) or just search the net for Long True Cool. Supposedly these are some of the best out there. Yes it can be added aftermarket with no issue.

Did your truck come with the Tow package? If not you also don't have the higher amp alternator that you would with the Package.
