Oh, they're great. I can probably find better things to spend $4000 on however.

Yeah, these cranks are something amazing. Very much so.

Now remember, these are solid billet cranks made from nickel chromoium molebydium infused harded billet steel. And not only that, there's Eagle forged H-beam rods, and J&E forged billet aluminum 2024 that go along with this crank for those of you that want a complete stroker kit.

Pistons: Custom J&E pistons, with proper valve relief pattern, and custom dish. Any compression ratio you like, we can deliver. FWIW, a -33cc dish has yeilded gret results

Piston rings: Standard J&E high strength rings, perfect for high boost, high compression applications

Rods: Eagle forged 4340 steel H-beam rods, with 3/8 inch rod bolts. VERY stout.

This is all cool, but it does make me want to ask if the crank etc from the oncoming 5+ liter are going to be usable in our 4.7. I haven't seen the engine specs anywhere, is it an entirely new beast? Regards.

I'm not entirely sure so do not quote me on this but the new 2007 5.7 tundra motors are push rod, cam in block design, using lessons learned from their NASCAR craftsman truck tundra. Completly different motor and most likely will not be adaptable to the old 4.7

wasn't toyota doing a good thing when they left the pushrods in the past? why would they be returning to the outdated ways? The only thing I can think of is that your average joe ford or chevy owner is going to think "it's a pushrod, i know that word!" and might be a little more likely to invest in foreign truck.

Back to the main point of the thread. As someone stated previously, I do find it very hard to commit to any kind of drastic hp increase whether it be stroking or fi when the tundra's transmission and drivetrain can't handle the power. Who knows, maybe I'll put an alison in when I go through with my sas.

wow, this is too cool! My engine only has 2000miles on it. I can't even dream about doing something like this to it.

I had a V6 mustang and I stroked it from a 3.8 to a 4.2L. That was fun. The TQ difference was great. I could only imagine stroking this 4.7L to a 5.0 or a 5.3L. The tq would be uber fun!

Offtopic: That car is that turbo motor in? Is that a 2UZ in a car? Looks so clean.

Just stay focused that this will require some one with a ton of disposable income. Increase power, increase strength of drive train, then you have to be able to stop so increase the size of the brakes. Then it comes down to changing the speed rating of the tires. Complete different exhaust system and reprogramming of the computers.
I would like to have the cash to do this as it would be great to have a sleeper tundra that could blow socks off of most everything on road!

We're currently building a 5.4L stroked twin turbo monster for a guy, here's a pic of my personal 4.7L motor destined for twin turbo duty.

oh my ..... what is it going into? and is it a 1 uz or 2uz motor

Would love to see that in a tundra.

Any chance anyone has done one for their tundra that you are aware of.

And maybe if so you could send them this way with some videos from the customer to show and flaunt to us

It's a 4.7L. 4.8L by the time we're done with it. It's going into a 1997 Toyota Supra, I've got complete buildup pics. The parts list that's gone into this thing is long like my arm. The only person I know of that's doing something to this level with a 2uz is Wayne.

Show us a video of your 1997 Supra when it is completed. What #'s you going for? 1200 HP? I know the Ultima car was 1100 hp when it's 1 or 2uz was TT'ed and got to 217 mph in 19 secs and the guy driving it was missing shifts too.

Too bad a Tundra can only go 106 mph. Maybe in 1-2 years I'll contact you with an older used tundra to modify using the 2uz motor and gutting/caging/4 linking, etc, with a Transmission that can handle 800 hp and top out at 145 mph.

Good work BTW.

Thumbs up Stroking the 4.7

Castillo's Crankshaft Service - Turbo Magazine

ALL Reviews I've read are very favorable - and this Article is a perfect 'primer'
for anyone interested in learning more about the 'Black Arts' of Automotive
Performance Crankshaft Servicing.

The specific company the Article features is:

Castillo's Crankshaft Specialty
14654 1/2 Firestone Blvd
LA Mirada, CA 90638-5915
7145230321

AS fAR as 'billet' cranks - nah.

Castillo's can stroke your Factory Forged crankshaft for like a grand.

Manley has nice con rods - figure out if you want a .25" add for a 3.56" stroke - Ford Cobra 4.6 is 3.55 - 5.0 stroker is 3.80" - adding .44" would require using the 'HONDA" sized big end rods and maybe moving the piston pin up while keeping the rod ratio healthy - doable - those Mach 1 engines sound 'healthy' on that 3.80" .

JE pistons are heavy.

I'd go with Ceramic coated tops on CP or Venolia, as I like Lite-Weight in the reciprocating area - 4 valve cut on a flat top piston isn't rocket science.

Rods for around $800.00 a set of 8

Get the strongest 'upgrade' rod bolts available.

Pistons ......... figure a grand+ with pins - then coatings.

One mean stroker for roughly $3k - without figuring teardown / gaskets & seals / ARP main studs.

Of course - skip the stroke job - upgrade rods / pistons & toss a Turbo in........ 6/700HP on the stock Factory Forged crankshaft - Turbos like short strokes 'n long rods....... heYEAh bAyBe !
