Default 05 6sp lube owner's manual wrong! (?)

05 6-speed Tundra.
Owners manual says "manual transmission" oil capacity 1.9 quarts.
I just drained out 2.9 quarts!

The fill plug had a metal washer. The drain plug did not.

P.S. How much is the official Toyota tech manual for this vehicle?

Are you sure you didn't read the Imperial measurement? Usually in the manuals the US quarts/gallons are in parenthesis right next to the Imperial measures.

If a combo of all these whizz bangs met their claims you'd have to syphon gas out of your tank every second day and sell the excess horsepower on the third????

I'm sure.
"L (qt., Imp. qt.): 1.8 (1.9, 1.6)"

Thanks for the reply.
I'm not moving it until I settle this.

The drain plug metal or nylon gasket likely stuck to the sump.

You're probably supposed to fill the tranny until gear oil dribbles out of the fill hole. My 1994 tercel takes 2.9 qts also. I got redline MT-90.

Right.
First, I'll need another quart of lube.
Thanks.

Here's a mystery: on refill, it only took about 1.9 quarts, as the owner's manual states.
About 2.9 quarts definitely came out.

Maybe it wasn't *level* when filled?

I'm not going to worry about this. The old lube looked good, and the trans works perfectly.

I searched and searched, including in the drain bucket. Why didn't you tell me this before?
