Default 2005 Tundra Cold Air Induction

I have searched and searched for a cold air induction system for my '05 Tundra. AEM sent me one, but the air sensor is a different shape than that of an '04. Has anybody found any (reasonably priced) alternatives?

The obvious choices are K&N FIPK, AEM (as you've already tried) or Volant. However, I see neither K&N nor Volant offer kits for the '05 Tundra.

Another option is my Ram Air Performance System (aka RAPS). It's not a replacement "cold air" intake but rather a supplemental cold air system. Two kits are available: One for the K&N FIPK and the other for the Stock Air Box. Do search on "raps" to read more on this site and/or see the Installation Instructions for details.

Feel free to drop me a Private Message or e-mail at info@ramairperformance.com

Seee-ya!

Jim.

Default Cold Air

Do yourself and your pocket book a BIG favor and do a lot of research on air box modifications. Lot's of posts and disapointed forum members on this site regarding this issue.

What's wrong with the factory cold air intake?

Not much. As the air box sits just behind the front grill area, I cut a retangular, with rounded ends, opening in the front section of my air box. Approx. 4" X 2". Did it help. Not that I can feel.

why not just do a drop in K&N filter? i doubt a cold air will dyno anymore then 1 hp over a drop in filter....and its only like 40 bucks!

Wha't wrong with the excellent Denso OEM air filter? Nobody has shown any proof that any drop-in filter element has any advantage except recleanability.
