Default Check Engine Lite after Hard Braking

For the past 2 weeks we have -10 to -20 weather here in Alaska, yesterday I was on my way to work and I had a lady drive by me to pass in a heep(Jeep),when she decided to change back into my lane she lost control of her vehicle. So I slammed the brakes on and the engined died. I coast up to a street so I could get out of traffic. And try to start the truck, at first it wouldn't start so let it set for about 5 minutes and it started right back up.
Except the "Check Engine" lite came on. I have checked every thing in the engine compartment and seems ok, had dealer check it today and allis well, tried to reset the but didn't work either.

There was one other time I washed the engine and the "Check Engine" lite came on and I let the engine dry and even pulled the sensor out and dried it and finally the lite went out. I am wondering of possibly any moisture has gotten in some where because of the last 2 weeks of low temp. extremes.
Any ideas??

I have a 2002, Toyota Tundra 4x4 SR5, with 78,078 miles on it, and have kept up on the maint.

Default Check Engine lite

I'll answer my own post, since it looks like no one has answered it for me, what I did was removed the O2 sensor cleaned it reinstalled it, started the engine and the check engine lite went out about 5 minutes later....

It seems kinda weird that your hard braking and the O2 sensor were related. Maybe when you killed the engine and came to a fast stop it jarred some carbon onto the sensor.

With those types of symptoms, I wouldn't be too quick to clear a code without having it read first. If it happens again, I would head to an Autozone or some other parts place where you can have the code read for free. Having a check engine light come on is one thing, but having your engine die is another. It's a good thing you didn't have to make a second evasive maneuver to avoid the Jeep....
