Did you add the engine oil to the tranny?

Take it to Mike at Automotive Technologies (661-255-6913) on San Fernando Road and Lyons. Tell them that Rich with the Monte Carlo sent you. My Tundra has had all the service done here.

You could also take it to Johm at Kiwi Motors (661-799-1688) on San Fernando Road near 15th street. Thats where my civic is right now.

Both shops can flush the trans.

No problem. I thought you accidently added engine oil to the trans and thats why mentioned the trans flush. I dont remember how much they charged fro my trans flush. I took them the Mobil synthetic ATF and he flushed it.

A flush is better but you can certainly just drain and fill the trans.

If you do a flush, it would be a good time to swap over to synthetic. Then you don't have to be in any hurry to change the trans fluid over the next time. And the trans will last longer.

If you didn't add the engine oil to the tranny, then all you need to do is:

1- Drain extra oil from engine (good time to do an oil change)
2 - Add tranny fluid, when you drained out the tranny only a few quarts were drined from the system.

Your transmission is 4 quarts low?...just add that much back before driving.

If you drain and refill your transmission like this every 2nd or 3rd oil change you'll add to the life of your transmission.

Since you didn't add anything to the tranny, just add however much tranny fluid you drained-
You can add it through the tranny dipstick-

After that, drain your engine oil to the proper level- Or just redo.

Since an '05 Tacoma doesn't have a tranny dipstick you need to add the fluid through the the refill plug.

Default no prob

i did the same thing bout 6 months ago or mayb more, but all i did is wut yall are sayin. drain ur oil, change the filter too, fill the transmission oil back (however much u think u drained) and u'll be cool. the tranni oil should be something like dexron 3, the manual should say if u want to see urself, cuz mines a 2.7 as well, 03', same engine and tranny. i actually drove it around for a day with it slippin not knowin wut i did so nothing to worry bout. not a single prob except my screw up.
